That is the biggest load of bull**** I have ever heard. For ****s sake, all I normally hear people say is that Eve is different from every other MMO on the market. Now all you are saying is that it should be like WoW.
You are all ****ing morons.
Hey!
Around here we call it hypocrisy and we're rather proud of it!

How about you go back in your hole and come back with something a bit more constructive.

Originally by: Gynren Heres what i see the future of mmo's and its starting to happen already.
1. mmo's will be free to play 2. mmo's will be free to download 3. special items can be purchased from the game company 4. premium paying accounts get access to premium areas
This gives access to a huge market if people like the game they will stay and pay. Gold sellers are the bane of most mmo's this practically eliminates them.At the moment eve does cost more than any mmo ive seen.
And ultimately these don't work. They are, just like now, ways to make money as everyone who wants to succeed in these "just buy little stuff" needs to pay more then an average monthly cost.
Silly idea, works if you get people hooked, bad for players.
Originally by: Gynren That makes u a geek emplyee not a businessman you worked for the them the ones with the bussiness heads where the people who owned and ran the company
Even if that was remotely true, i'd still have mroe experience in it then you.
So how about you counter what i said to you with an argument, not with "you don't know! Wah!"

Originally by: Gynren Dark age of Camelo(cut for space)t gonna be sat there without developing anything else they will be putting loads into keeping themselves at the top for the future. But hey its business huge risks huge gains.
So you're saying "this game is fine and this game is fine with just one character gaining skills", but then turn the tables around and say that EVE needs to have more?
Why?
What is the reason?
If with others it's fine, why is EVE different?
And i've said why MMOs won't go the way you think.

Originally by: Gynren I love this game i think you may think i'm knocking it i'm not. Things have to change to remain current thats a fact of all life. I want to see eve around in the future but it has to change. I know that ccp are investing heavily into content because it has a shortfall pve+pvp great combo but you have to try and balance it. As a new player to eve its not that welcoming its very dev orientated even the terminology needs sorting it screams geeks playground. I'm want to play for a long time to come and from a news players perspective it needs to be tuned. Its my opinion thats all.
Still didn't answer how multiple character training would change things.
You could remove the two extra character slots and get same result; aka no confusion for the new player whom you seem to protect with this.
Balance, content, irrelevant.

Originally by: Gynren From a previous post i said that this game is quite different there is no final level and training takes a long time to get anywhere. I need to keep cashflow and i want to get to pvp but i cant do both so pvp will have to wait im not doing it all on one character. Yes i can earn from pvp but i need to get there with the right skills and gear first. To farm isk u still need alot of skills. In other mmo's ive played you can do both at the same time in this game its one or the other or swap around as is needed. The rewards from pve ie missions is pretty poor for the risk that you take at higher level missions unless your killing pirates which gives better bounty than the mission reward, and of course loot if u can be bothered to pick it up and salvage which takes longer than the mission did and imo is grinding which i see as a thing of the past until it has better rewards and content of course to make it more interesting not a chore.
1: the training takes long 'cause there's 200 more skills to learn, then for example in WoW or DAoC.
2: In WoW and DAoC both, you didn't make money out of PVP. You did quests, grinded etc. Same goes here. Most PVP ships can grind missions to get the ISK. Or even mine. Just fit miners and voila. You can't do it as effectively as the other person who has invested time in mining and NOT PVP, but then that's HIS way of playing. Multiple ways to play, sandbox, open. Not restricted.
3: Still haven't answered why you should be able to train on several characters. Only reason you've stated is to train a miner and a PVP char at the same time, but that would kill the system of specialization which is a rather big part of EVE.
4: Multiple character training would mean a ton more characters sold.

Originally by: Gynren I'm not saying multiple training is the answer just thought it was an option to this stalemate. DAOC does earn from pvp, quests came at a later date after wows release. Maybe the answer is while training for pvp give better rewards from pve !!?? something needs to happen. Both of these mmo's have pvp available from the first day this game does'nt unless u r suicidal most people won't enter low sec because of being ganked and podded then having to splash out for implants because 12 pirates gate camping in T2 ships ready to wipe out their frigate or cruiser.
Well that's a completely different point then the original.

Originally by: Gynren I can t see how that is seeing the topic says 'would' be nice not that it should happen but addressing the issue that i have spoken about previously.
Your initial post was all about "let use train more characters", now on your last post you said it's not the point. So, point has changed.

Originally by: Gynren Ok so what would be the ups and downs of training on 2 characters?? would it impact the game so much that it would damage it?? or would it enhance the game ??
i dunno it was posted to debate nothing else
No specialized players as all could have a miner, fighter and industrialist at the same time.
Simplest answer of the damage it would cause.

Originally by: Gynren It sounds like alot of people are doing both anyways as i am just means takes longer because of one character training so i don't see your point is valid and u said yourself you know people who put miners on their pvp setup.
But those people make money for CCP. CCP is a company and with a limited(not 11 million) subscription base, they need all they get.

Originally by: Gynren To survive they need balls of steel not sentiment and the drive to take the bull by the horns and make risky decisions and listen to customer feedback ( i like that last bit ^^)
The thing is, that still doesn't mean it would benefit you.
They took a risk with whitewolf, starting another MMO.
They took a risk developing WiS, which might flop.
They'll take a risk with planetary flight, again...who knows.
They also are listening to customers, but they listen to ALL of them.
One person in a fair 100k people saying "i want vanilla" when other people are talking about cars, is not going to go high in the "worry" list.
Hope that explains it.

Originally by: Gynren And not everybody uses the forums i hear alot of what i have said from other people i understand your point but you think its a minority that want change it isnt theres more than u think so many posts on the forums about it and they just get flamed and told to go away and play something else if they dont like the way things are i know that ccp would not talk to their customers in such an abusive way
If 1/10 uses the forum, it's still a control group and an opinion.
ti's nto the overall opinion, but if 9/10 on the forum say that something is not ok, then it can be assumed that 9/10 of the playerbase feel the same.
There are ofcourse more people in the 1/10, but it's still a valid perspective.
I'd be careful about the "older players are like this", as most of us older players don't give two tosses about change 'cause we've lived through it all

I've answered all your questions, given plenty of reasons, yet you've not been able to answer anything with other then "No u" or "You don't get it".
A mirror would do a world of good here.
